We are looking for a

Purchasing Assistant

An opportunity has arisen within our Purchasing department for a full time position.
The Purchasing Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the purchasing department. The role involves assisting with the procurement of goods and services, monitoring inventory levels, preparing purchase orders, tracking shipments, and maintaining supplier relationships.


Main Responsibilities
Transport invoices: Processing, maintain database of agreed rates with hauliers, matching POD’s to invoices, entering cost data into ERP, raising invoicing queries with hauliers, approving invoices.Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels, identifying purchasing needs, and placing orders as necessary within the appropriate lead times.Order Processing: Creating purchase orders, sending them to suppliers, checking confirmations against Purchase Orders and tracking them for timely delivery.

Supplier Relations: Communicating and meeting with suppliers, negotiating prices, determine products to purchase and resolving any issues that arise.

Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of purchases, invoices, and contracts.

Administrative Tasks: Supporting the purchasing department with other administrative tasks.

Expediting Orders: Following up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, booking in deliveries and address any delays.

Supplier Communication: Resolving supplier queries, invoice queries, rejected materials and delivery issues.

Collaborating with Other Departments: Communicating with all departments to understand their purchasing needs.

Assist Purchasing Manger where necessary

Required skills
Good Maths / numerical skills

English GCSE Level 5 Minimum

ConfidentReliable

Personal skills to deal with internal and external stakeholders

Quick thinking and problem solver

Efficient administrator and strong IT skills

Attention to detail

Ability to be flexible and open to changes

Desirable:
Foreign Languages

Experience in manufacturing environment beneficial

Working Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 9am - 4.30pm, Friday: 9am - 4:00pm (Including 30 minutes unpaid lunch break taken between 12pm - 2pm) OR Monday - Thursday: 9am - 5:00pm, Friday: 9am - 4:30pm (Including 1 hour unpaid lunch break taken between 12pm - 2pm)
